- Peanut paste — to buy200 g
- Onion — to buy1
- Garlic — to buy2 cloves
- Tomato — to buy2
- Olive oil — to buy2 tbsp
- Chili pepper — to buy1
Preparation
Heat the oil in a saucepan and sauté the sliced onion for 8 minutes until deeply golden.
Add the garlic and diced tomato, let it simmer down for 5 minutes.
Thin the peanut paste with a little warm water until smooth and pourable.
Pour the thinned peanut paste into the saucepan with the rest of the water, mix well.
Simmer over low heat for 20-25 minutes, stirring regularly to prevent sticking, the sauce should thicken and become creamy.
Season with salt and chili, serve over rice, matoke or posho, it is the comforting everyday sauce of Uganda.
