Ingredients
- Sweetened condensed milk — to buy1 can
- Butter — to buy20g
- Chocolate — to buy3 tbsp
Preparation
In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, mix the sweetened condensed milk, butter cut into small pieces and sifted cocoa powder (to avoid lumps) or melted chocolate.
Heat over low to medium heat, stirring constantly with a spatula and scraping the bottom and edges, for 10-12 minutes, until the mixture thickens and clearly pulls away from the bottom when pushed: that's the sign it's ready, don't stop before that.
Pour the mixture onto an oiled plate, spread it out a little so it cools faster, and let it cool completely in the fridge, at least 1 hour: this is essential for being able to shape it without it sticking everywhere.
Lightly butter your hands, take small portions and roll them into smooth, even balls.
Roll each ball in chocolate sprinkles or cocoa powder, pressing gently so it sticks well.
Place each brigadeiro in a small paper cup and serve at room temperature or chilled.
