- White fish fillet — to buy4 filets
- Garlic — to buy4 cloves
- Cumin — to buy1 tsp
- Turmeric — to buy1 tsp
- Paprika — to buy1 tsp
- Chili pepper — to buy1
- Lemon — to buy1
- Neutral oil — to buy3 tbsp
- Fresh cilantro — to buy1/2 bunch
- Salt — to buy1 tsp
Preparation
Prepare the marinade: blend or pound together the garlic, cumin, turmeric, paprika, deseeded chilli, lemon juice, oil and salt into a thick paste.
Generously coat the fish fillets with the spice paste on all sides, cover and let marinate in the fridge for 20 minutes.
Heat a grill or griddle pan over high heat.
Place the fillets skin-side down on the grill and cook for 4 minutes without touching them, so the skin turns crisp.
Gently flip and continue cooking for 3-4 minutes on the other side, until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
Sprinkle with fresh chopped coriander and serve with rice or lahoh bread.
