- Rice — to buy400 g
- Braising beef — to buy300 g
- Tomato — to buy4
- Tomato paste — to buy2 tbsp
- Onion — to buy2
- Carrot — to buy2
- White cabbage — to buy1/4
- Palm oil — to buy3 tbsp
- Stock — to buy700 ml
- Salt — to buy1 tsp
- Chili pepper — to buy1 (whole)
Preparation
Cut the beef into cubes and brown it for 8 minutes in the hot palm oil in a large pot.
Add the sliced onion, sauté for 4 minutes, then add the blended tomatoes with the tomato paste and let stew for 10 minutes.
Slip the whole chili (unpierced, to add flavor without too much heat) into the sauce, add the sliced carrots and shredded cabbage, and stir for 2 minutes.
Pour in the rinsed, drained rice, stirring to coat it well in the sauce.
Pour in the hot stock, season with salt, bring to a boil, then cover and lower the heat to minimum.
Cook for 20 minutes without lifting the lid, until the rice has absorbed all the liquid.
Remove the whole chili before serving, fluff the rice with a fork, and serve piping hot.
