Ingredients
~12 pieces
- Rice flour — to buy300 g
- Molasses — to buy150 g
- Sesame seeds — to buy30 g toasted
- Cardamom — to buy2 pods, ground
Preparation
Mix the rice flour with hot water, knead until you get a smooth, pliable dough, cover and let rest for 15 minutes.
Prepare the filling by mixing the molasses, toasted sesame seeds and a pinch of cardamom.
Shape balls of dough, flatten them into discs then hollow out the center.
Fill each disc with the molasses filling, then close by pinching the edges into the characteristic pointed fig-like shape.
Steam the yomari for 15-18 minutes, until the dough is translucent and fully cooked.
Serve warm or at room temperature — the warm molasses inside is yomari's best surprise.
